Meet Wendell

Wendell Felder is a proud fourth-generation Washingtonian and dedicated community leader in Ward 7. He was born, and raised in Southeast Washington, D.C., and is a graduate of D.C. Public School's McKinley Technology High. Belonging to a big family, and being the second oldest child of nine siblings, he learned at a very early age the value of service and the importance of managing and building community relationships. Wendell has devoted his entire professional career to improving the quality of life for D.C. residents through his work as a public servant.

Priorities

Wendell's priorities are clear in his Ward 7 Recovery Plan. Within the first 180 days, he plans to assess community needs, establish a Police Safety Council, and evaluate service organizations. Short-term goals include supporting law enforcement, expanding out-of-school programs, and preventing business displacement. In the long term, Wendell aims to reimagine policing, stabilize families through wrap-around services, and promote community-connected first responders. His comprehensive approach spans economic growth, affordable housing, education, small business support, transportation infrastructure, and addressing healthcare disparities and poverty throughout Ward 7.
